Obituary

Frances Isabelle (nee Gemmell), 84, passed away with family by her side at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, SK on June 7, 2017. Isabelle was born February 5, 1933 in Saskatoon, SK. She was the eldest daughter of Gordon Meredith and Eveline Sutcliffe (nee Jackson) Gemmell. Isabelle went to school at Caswell Elementary and Bedford Road Collegiate in Saskatoon. While in high school, she met Robert E. Strelioff (1931-2000), son of William W. "Bill" Strelioff and Mary Ella (nee Zbitnoff) (Strelioff) Johnson and later, step son of George R. Johnson (Stupnikoff). Isabelle and Robert married in 1951 in Saskatoon and subsequently raised a family of five children. Her family was her life and always her top priority until the day she passed. Devoted to her clients, Isabelle worked as a self-employed accountant right up until she was recently admitted to hospital. She proudly achieved both Accredited Public Accountant and Certified General Accountant designations in her lifetime. Isabelle was also a past member of the Order of Eastern Star and a passionate life time member of the Saskatoon Doukhobor Society. Isabelle will be dearly missed and always cherished by her children: Marilyn, Lesley (Todd; grandchildren Cole and Ryan), Gale (grandchildren Marisha and Evan), Bob (Brenda; granddaughter Karalee (Diedrich), great grandchildren Hunter and Paxton); and Donna (Con; grandchildren Tanya (Kurtis; great grandchildren Trinity and Kaiden) and Nicole). In addition, she will be lovingly remembered by her four dear sisters: Joan, Mary, Lynn, and June as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends Delphine and Les, Mae, Jeanette and many more. A huge thank you to the Doctors (particularly Dr. Honish) and nursing staff at St. Paul's Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice or to the Saskatoon Mental Health Association, the Heart and Stroke Association, Cancer Society or to the Saskatoon Doukhobor Society would be greatly appreciated.
