Mathew Kenneth Bernard Ostopovich, age 26, passed away January 1 2018. He was born November 10 1991 in Toronto ON. He attended St Joseph High School in Saskatoon SK from which he graduated in 2009. He was a member of the high school and local community basketball team.
Mathew was also a member of the Navy Cadets in Ontario for several years when he was younger and he ranked in the top 3 of Ontario. He achieved the award of excellence for discipline and shooting and this he accomplished even with his hearing disability. His favorite past time was fishing in which he was most at peace. He knew exactly where the good spots were. He became a very skilled roofer and had become a well-respected foreman at Century Roofing.
Mathew is survived by this spouse Monique Haudegand; his parents Catharine Ostopovich and Kenneth Mallard; his brother Michael Ostopovich and his sister Kathleen Ostopovich and her two children (Jacob and Jonah ). He is also survived by his very good friend and mentor, Chris Schappert plus many other friends and family.

Funeral Details

A viewing will be on Friday, January 5 2018 at 7pm-9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Saturday January 6 2018 at 2pm for all family and friends. Both will take place at the chapel of the Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 Fourth Avenue North Saskatoon SK S7K 2L7.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saskatoon Mobile Crisis Team (103-506 25th St. E, Saskatoon, SK S7K 4A7) there will be envelopes at the Service. Condolences may be left at www.saskatoonfuneralhome.com Arrangements are entrusted to the SASKATOON FUNERAL HOME, 306-244-5577.
