Obituary of Beulah McMillan

Beulah “Bobby” Irene McMillan 1921 – 2017 Bobby was born (Beulah Irene Buchanan) in Loreburn Sk. on September 14, 1921 and passed away in Saskatoon on December 3, 2017 at the age of 96 surrounded by her loving family. She was the youngest of seven children born to James Irwin and Sarah Frances Buchanan. After moving to Saskatoon for a short time, the family moved to a farm west of Saskatoon in 1929 where she attended Gideon School. On July 6, 1943 she married John Douglas “Jack” McMillan. They were married in a grove of trees on the Cameron farm. She and Jack had two sons, Doug and Don. In Saskatoon, Bobby worked for Sears in the order office. She also worked for the Department of Highways on the telephone “hot line” for ten years until she retired in 1986. Bobby kept close family ties with her sister Anne Cameron in the early years doing many family events. Bobby collected antiques for forty five years. She and Jack also had a cabin at Christopher Lake from 1973 to 2009. Bobby is predeceased by her husband Jack in 1985, son Don in 1997, and grandson Craig in 1992. She is also predeceased by her siblings Nora, Dudley, Kathleen, Garnett, Anne, and an infant baby brother in 1906. She is survived by her son Doug (Janet), granddaughter Leslie Crockett and great grandchildren Samantha, Andrew, Aidan and Aran. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Circle Drive Special Care Home for the excellent care Bobby received while she was there. Memorial donations may be directed to the Parkinson’s Society of Saskatchewan or to a charity of choice.

Funeral

At Bobby’s request there will not be a funeral. The family is planning a private Memorial in the spring of 2018.
