Lila Sirois

Obituary of Lila Mae Sirois

Lila Mae Sirois (Lyons) of Saskatoon.   It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Lila on March 19th at St. Paul’s Hospital.  She was 73 years of age.
Lila won awards in floral arranging, was a talented seamstress, loved container gardening, and recently had regained a passion for painting.  She looked forward to getting together with her painting group each week.  There was simply nothing Lila couldn’t tackle if she set her mind to it.
She is survived by her daughter Carrie Sirois Coogan, husband Michael, and grandson Joseph (Fairfax, VA). She was predeceased by her older sister Carol Roga, who she missed each and every day.  Lila also leaves behind extended family in and around the Coquitlam BC and Rosetown/Zealandia areas.
On behalf of mom and the family, we wish to express our deepest heart felt gratitude to all those who helped keep her independence as much as possible over the last decade.  Your kindness and assistance will never be forgotten.  It meant so much to her to have such a terrific support system.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wildwood Mennonite Church (1502 Acadia Drive) or any health foundation of your choosing.  Lila joined this church later in life, but took much comfort from their sense of community and had cultivated many deep friendships over the years.
A church service celebrating her life will be held at the Wildwood Mennonite Church on Saturday April 21st at 11am, with lunch to follow.
The best way to remember Lila is to plant a flower for her in your garden come spring.  “Friends come into our lives and friends leave our lives.  But friends never leave our hearts.”
