Alan Yat Hong Chung, aged 89, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, in Saskatoon, surrounded by loved ones. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a cherished brother, and a dear friend to many.

Alan was born in Hong Kong on December 12, 1935. There he met his first wife, Kay, and was married in 1965. They immigrated to Saskatoon, Canada in 1967 where they raised their three children, Susan, William and Tim.

Alan had a fulfilling career as a mechanic, earning deep respect for his hard work and dedication. He supported is wife Kay in developing a family business, Kay's Sewing. In his free time, he enjoyed working with his hands, listening to the erhu, collecting unique artifacts, and gardening. He was a founding member of the Saskatoon Chinese Alliance Church since 1969. Alan lost his first wife, Kay, to cancer in 2003.

After retirement, he found joy in creating intricate stained-glass artwork, crafting many beautiful pieces. He also enjoyed traveling the world and made several trips to China where he met his second wife, Wanhong Pan. They were married in May 2017.

Alan lived a life filled with kindness, love, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He was known for his warm heart, wisdom, and wonderful sense of humor, touching the lives of all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving second wife, Wanhong Pan; his children, Susan (Robert Bennett), William (Karyn), Tim (Sarah), and Carrie (Tom); and his grandchildren, Ling, Nathan, Shane, Madeline, Emma, Thomas and Tylar. Alan was preceded by his granddaughter Bo. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held on March 14 at 2:00 PM at Saskatoon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made through GoFundMe to support Wanhong Pan and her family during this difficult time.
