Andrew was born on January 30, 1975 in Edmonton, Alberta to Kit and Gerlinde Sarkar and he died October 11, 2024 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Predeceased are his father, Kit Sarkar; his grandparents; and two aunts, Manju Dutta and Ursula Wansel. He is survived by his mother; his brothers, Robert and Christopher; his sister-in-law, Sophea Mao; and his nephew, Nicholas.
Andrew had a very inquisitive mind and was an active little boy who gave much joy. His family moved to Saskatoon when he was three. He attended elementary school in Saskatoon. He attended high school at St. John's Ravenscourt in Winnipeg, MB and received many honours and awards in mathematics. He received early admission to MIT, and graduated with a combined Bachelor and Master's in computer science and electrical engineering in 2000. He worked in various computer related companies in the USA. While in the USA he met and married Sarah Neth in 2005. The couple resided in Dallas, TX and Rochester, NY. but eventually the marriage ended. Andrew remained in Rochester and obtained an MBA with Accounting specialty. Andrew loved poker and chess and was always seen with a chess set close by. He loved to travel and volunteered in Tanzania. His last trip was two years ago to Tunisia. The family will have a private ceremony to remember his life.
