Heino Waehrer

Heino Waehrer passed away on March 22, 2016 with family at his side. Heino was born February 12, 1934 in North Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1957. He attended the University of Saskatchewan, where he met his best friend Kathy; they were married for 55 years. Heino was a teacher in Nipawin, Prince Albert, and then for many years at the University of Saskatchewan as a sessional lecturer and in Saskatoon Public Schools at Evan Hardy, City Park and Marion Graham Collegiates. He loved to teach and inspired many students to think and evaluate politics in his social studies class. Heino coached soccer and Reach For The Top as well as taking students on canoe trips. Heino loved golfing and enjoyed taking his children and grandchildren out for a round. Above all else Heino loved his family. Left to mourn are his wife Kathy; children Jacqui (Glenn), Tess (Frank), Jonathan (Kelly); grandchildren Matthew, Nina, Kennedy, Lexi, Jackson, Joshua and Zachery; sister-in-law Susan (Robert); niece Jennifer (Curtis) and their children Caleb and Ava and nephew George.
