John Harpell

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of John Harpell. He passed peacefully at home on February 15, 2016. He has left behind his partner Lin (Linda); his children Stacey and Drew (Julie); grandchildren Beth and Juniper; his mother Audrey, sister Valerie (Bruce); his stepfamily Jeff (Moira) and their children, Oliver and Finn; Jennifer (Brad) and their son Josh; and numerous extended family. He was predeceased by his wife Susan; his father Joe; his mother in law Lila and father in law Bill. John was born on May 3, 1947 in Kingston, ON. He lived his younger years in Ontario, but moved his family to Saskatoon in the early 70s for work. He spent most of his career as the Sheet Metal Program Head at Kelsey Campus. He loved to spend time with his wife and children in the outdoors. Shortly after his wife's passing he retired. He met Lin shortly afterwards and they enjoyed retirement together splitting their time between building their home in Turtle Lake in the summer and traveling down to Arizona in the winter. He treasured all the time he got to spend with his children and grandchildren. Everywhere John went he made friends and he will be sadly missed by many.
