Obituary of Westad Elaine

It is with deep sadness that the family of Elaine Westad announces her passing on Sunday, October 4, 2015 in Saskatoon. She will be greatly missed by her numerous family members and many friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Sandra (Gordie) Ruzesky, llyne (Jerry) Thiessen, Norma (Don) Friesen, Owen (Trudy) Westad, Lindsay (Anne) Westad, and Leah (Rob) Storrow; grandchildren Carman (Sean Hunter) Thiessen, Cheryl (Cory) Whyte, Brett (Cari) Ruzesky, Heather Ruzesky, Allison (Bernie) McMorrow, Amy (Dave) Specht, Alicia, Evan, Eric Westad, Jessica, Jordan, Janelle Westad, Claire and Abby Storrow; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn Green, Jack Hunter, Carson, Colby & Chloe Whyte, Emily & Ella Ruzesky, Nicholas, Olivia and Isabelle McMorrow; her sisters Mary Watson and Edith Chapple; sister-in-laws Wilda Minty, Merle Minty; brother-in-law Eric Sigvaldson and numerous nieces and nephews. Elaine was predeceased by her husband Norman, her parents Gordon and Jessie, her brothers Ron and Gordon and her sister Alice Jones. She was born and raised on a farm near Asquith where she attended Grasby School. Elaine married Norman in 1949 and they farmed and raised their family near Langham. She was involved in 4H, Ladies Aid Society, Curling, Legion Auxiliary and many community activities. She spent countless hours gardening, quilting and had an active lifestyle at Luther Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Saskatchewan Lutheran Church (Box 717 Langham, SK S0K 2L0) or to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada (Box 430 Sub PO#6 Saskatoon, SK S7N 0W0).

Funeral

A Visitation will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First Saskatchewan Lutheran Church.
