Denae Lawrence

Obituary of Denae Leona Yvonne Lawrence

Denae Leona Yvonne Lawrence (Nakonechny) passed peacefully on February 23, 2018 with her loving husband by her side.  Denae was born on August 19, 1986 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. She grew up on a family farm just outside of Foxford. Her most fond childhood memories were spent with family and friends at Candle Lake. Denae graduated from Meath Park School in 2004.  Her first job was at Candle Lake where she met the love of her life, Mark Lawrence.  Denae moved to Saskatoon after being accepted into the Nursing program at the University of Saskatchewan where she made some of her closest friends.  In 2008, she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree with Honours.  She began her career as a Registered Nurse in the PICU at RUH.  She later worked as a float nurse at the Saskatoon Cancer Agency before settling into a permanent position in the chemotherapy department.  Denae’s unique sense of humour was cherished dearly by her coworkers. Mark proposed to Denae at Candle Lake in 2009.  They were married in Saskatoon on April 24, 2010. They bought their first home near Colonsay the following summer. Denae had a zest for life, a love for the finer things and a passion for travel. Denae's great love and pride for her family and friends was unmeasurable.  She is survived by her loving husband Mark, her furry companions MacGyver and Beatrice; her parents Leonard and Yvonne Nakonechny, her five sisters and their families: Arlene (Doug) Drader, Joshua & Amy; Vanessa (Danny) Corriveau, Tanner & Taylor; Krista; Lara & Ryder; Cheryl; her father and mother in law, Gary and Linda Lawrence, and sister in law Andrea (Francis) Waterhouse, Charlotte & Amelia. She now rests in the loving arms of her sister Nicole. Denae and her family are grateful for the loving care provided by the many doctors and nurses throughout her journey.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Saskatoon SPCA and the Pink Wig Foundation.  Funeral services will be held at the Cathedral of the Holy Family at 123 Nelson Road, Saskatoon; 7:00pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018.  A private interment for the immediate family will take place on Sunday.  There will be a memorial social at 5:00pm on Sunday, March 4th at the Candle Lake Community Hall.
