Obituary of Edward Kitzul

Edward David Kitzul
KITZUL, Edward David September 1, 1938 – April 14, 2018.  It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our loving father and grandfather, on Saturday April 14th, 2018. Ed will be missed dearly by his sons Kelvin and Juanita (Kyla, Kirk and Kali), Clayton and Shelley (Kyle, Kris, Kelsie and Blain), and his daughters Laurie Kitzul and Doug Spearey, Mandy and Jim Waselick (Selina, and Steven). His brother in-law Ivan Andrews, and sisters in-law Olive Russell and Marilyn Andrews, half-sisters-in law Violet Sapergia and Bernice Austin.  Ed is predeceased by his loving wife, Darlene, parents Bill and Rose Kitzul, his sister Jean Bird, nephew Lee Bird, and brother in-law Rusty Russell.   Ed was born on a farm just outside of Sheho, Saskatchewan.  He met and fell in love with Darlene Andrews and they were married on April 18, 1957.  He worked with Wells Construction and then in 1964 with the City of Saskatoon as a heavy equipment operator.  Ed took his GED to become a foreman for the city and took great pride in his job.  He was an avid curler and played in the city employee’s league and many, many CUPE bonspiels over the years.  He retired in January of 1999 and enjoyed golfing, a model train hobby and various wood-working projects.  He loved to grow his tomatoes, pimp out his vehicles and host family and friend gatherings in the garage.  A celebration of Ed’s life will take place on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Army and Navy Veterans hall located at 359 1st Avenue North, Saskatoon.  Internment at a later date.  Donations can be made to Alzheimer Society Saskatchewan, #301-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1
