Obituary of John (Iain) Walls

WALLS, Iain
August 26, 1959 – April 20th, 2018
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Iain, at the age 58. He passed away peacefully on Friday April 20th at home surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren, whom all loved him dearly. We sadly say goodbye to our husband, dad, papa, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law and uncle.
After a year long battle with cancer, he leaves behind his wife Colleen of 38 years, his 4 children; Robyn (Derek) Arsenie children Denver & Emmett; Kristy (Dale) Amyotte children Montana & Crosby; Johnathan (Sasha) Walls children Ava, Nahla, & Milo; Lucas Walls daughter Alayna. He is also survived by his parents; Bob and Wilma Walls, his in-laws; Jack and Lois Beatty, his brother, Scott (Sandi) Walls and their children, Katie, Brock, Jenna & Chad. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Iain was born in Dunfermline, Fife Scotland in 1959. His family moved to Canada in 1967, and eventually settled in Saskatoon in 1974.
He attended and graduated from Aden Bowman Collegiate in 1977, where he met the love of his life, Colleen. He was employed at West Wind Aviation and worked as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. He spent nearly 40 years in this profession. He had many hobbies, which included hockey, soccer, woodworking, tiling, spending time in the yard and most of all spending time at the family cabin at Emma Lake. Iain and Colleen shared a love for nature and the outdoors, which blossomed from a trip they made to the West Coast Trail. They have since enjoyed many trips to Banff and Tofino as well as a special trip to Newfoundland.
He will be remembered for his strength, his sense of humor, his generosity, his stubbornness and his incredible love for his family.
We will always think of you when we see a crossword puzzle, weekly lottery draws, watching or playing soccer, enjoying the lake and any sign of nature.
Papa, thank you for passing on your love of soccer and fascination with nature and the outdoors.
Dad, thank you for loving us and accepting us all for who we are.
Oh Iain, how I will miss you! You were my best friend, my soul mate, my lover. You may be gone, but never forgotten.
There will be a celebration of his life on Friday, April 27th at 10am at Redeemer Lutheran Church. 812 Preston Avenue, Saskatoon.
