The family of Francis Reiss sadly announces his passing on May 19, 2018. He bravely fought the many complications involved with COPD for a number of years. He was predeceased by his parents, Florence and Raymond Reiss, his brother –in-law, Tony Oscienny, his nephews, Dean and Matthew Oscienny and his infant great nephew, Callum Trainor. He leaves behind to miss him his two sisters, Gail Boser (Charlie) and Linda Reiss, 3 nephews, 4 nieces, 6 great nephews, 3 great nieces and a wealth of wonderful friends. The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Saskatoon Funeral Home. Casual attire preferred. The family requests no flowers but instead asks that donations be made in his memory to his favorite charity- Egadz at 485 1st Ave. N Saskatoon S7K 1X5 or to a charity of your choice. Francis was born in Saskatoon on March 9, 1955 at City Hospital and was proudly brought home to Salvador, Sask. by his delighted parents, and his two adoring big sisters. He attended elementary schools in Salvador and one year in Edmonton before moving to Saskatoon with his family. He completed his elementary school years at St. Philip’s and moved to Holy Cross for high school. He spent one year at the U of S before embarking on his search for a career. He tried out several things before joining  the Saskatoon Public School system where he worked until his retirement, working his way up to head caretaker in a few years. Francis loved many sports-particularly golf and touch football which he played with great enthusiasm and considerable skill for as long as his health permitted. He also was an avid spectator of football and hockey and cheered on his teams- The Riders, The Steelers and the Toronto Maple Leafs with all his heart and soul. His fellow Toads from his touch football years became his lifelong friends as did his childhood friends from his years in Salvador and Saskatoon. He will be greatly missed especially by his family and others whose lives he touched.

Rest in Peace our beautiful brother
