Obituary of Alice Mildred Hanlin

It is with great joy we remember Alice (Covlin) Hanlin and celebrate her life with family and friends. Alice's frail body passed on July 3rd 2018 after 5.5 years of  battling ovarian cancer. Her spirit lives on in the wind blowing through the trees, flowers and the fields. We will each cherish memories of her in our own way.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years John Hanlin, son Brian (Gabriella) , Brandon, Aryana,  daughter Lorna (Mike) Taylor, Ashley (Cody) great grandchildren Belle , Beau.

Alice attended teachers college in Saskatoon 1955. She then attended 2 summers of Art School in Emma Lake. She retired from teaching in 1992 and continued on at the Uof S as a sessional lecturer until 2002. Alice was active in scouting activities, Toastmasters, Past president of Nutana Rotary , hosting exchange students for Rotary, Saskatoon Painters, McClure choir and supporting NDP South East. John and Alice loved traveling and enjoyed many camping trips with family. Alice loved to sing and dance, she found the beauty and fun in all occasions.

In 2008 John and Alice moved to Eastend SK where Alice’s artistic skills came to full blossom. She had a beautiful home studio Hidden Treasures that she took great pride and joy in.
