Obituary of Beverly Lloyd Coffin

The family of Beverly Lloyd Coffin wish to announce his passing on July 4, 2018, at Samaritan Place in Saskatoon.  Lloyd was born in Saskatoon, SK, and was raised on the family farm at Colonsay, SK.  In addition to farming for many years Lloyd also worked for the Hudson’s Bay Company and Central Canada Potash Company Limited.

Lloyd had many interests, but sports and music played a significant role in his life. Baseball, hockey, playing guitar and singing were favourites.  In 1999 Lloyd was honoured to be inducted as a member of the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame.

Above all Lloyd was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He and his wife Jane Davenport were blessed with 67 years of marriage.  Together they had 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Lloyd and Jane lived in Colonsay and Saskatoon.  They wintered for many years in El Centro, CA, and spent summers at their cottage at Sturgeon Lake.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Jane, his sons Bob Coffin (Debi) of Prince Albert and Bill Coffin (Cindy) of Saskatoon, his grandchildren Jennifer Coffin (Andrea Blondeau) of Saskatoon, Kelly Coffin (Pam) of Spruce Grove, AB, Blayne Burrows (Jordy) of Edmonton and Andrew Coffin (Sarah Schneider) of Richmond, VA, and great-grandchildren Easton and Cooper Burrows.

Lloyd was predeceased by an infant daughter, Bevee Coffin, his parents Godfrey and Agnes Coffin, and his sisters Sybil Rugg and Gladys Baird.

A celebration of Lloyd’s life will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Saskatoon Funeral Home. A time of fellowship will follow at Edwards Family Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can made to the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame, Box 1388, Battleford SK, S0M OE0, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
