Obituary of Bernadette Bertha Stewart

STEWART, BERNADETTE
1936 – 2018

With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Bernadette Stewart (Massé) on September 23, 2018 at Royal University Hospital at the age of 82 years.  Bernadette died peacefully surrounded by many family members.  Bernadette was born in St. Brieux, Saskatchewan on June 23, 1936.  She grew up there being the oldest of 7 children.  She moved to Wiseton where she eventually met and married her husband John Stewart in 1958. She is lovingly remembered by her son Dale (Tena); daughters Marian (Bob) Armstrong, Arla Wieler and Tracy Desjarlais; grandchildren Danielle (Stuart) Stewart, Natasha (Matt) Phillips, Jeffrey Stewart (LeRae Faulkner), Whitney (Dallas) Davies, Jennifer Armstrong, Jazmine (Dalen) Bellamy, Cassandra Wieler (Mitch Radons), Katrina (Kyler Recknell ) Desjarlais, and Travis, Cody and Kenton Price  : great grandchildren Rodney Recknell and Linkoln Davies; sisters Della Bollefer, Denise (Joey) Kriston, Darlene (Ivan) Lung, Violet Mueller and Angie Wehage; brother Raymond; brother and sister-in-law, Bill (Dorothy) Stewart.  She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bernadette was predeceased by her loving husband John, a son Glen and daughter Wanda; parents, parents-in-law, 7 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law.  The family would like to express their great appreciation to Milena for her loving care and kindness at the private care home in which she lived for the last year and a half and also to the staff at RUH on the 6000 ward for their loving and compassionate care in her last days. A Celebration of Bernadette’s life will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Saskatoon Funeral Home, with Sue Panattoni as celebrant.  Lunch will follow at the Edwards Family Center. The interment will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Holt Cemetery, followed by an informal social at Wiseton Memorial Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan.
