Obituary of Oswald Witt

It is with deep regret we announce the passing  of Oswald Witt, beloved husband of Bertha ; loving father to Dorothy, Brenda (Raymond) and Violet (Ennis). Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 3 at the Saskatoon Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association.

    Oswald was born in Eichenau Poland on July 11, 1926. He was born to Albert and Mathilda and was their fourth child, in the family of 6 kids. Oswald was a prisoner of war for four years and in November of 1949, he was released. In 1953 he immigrated to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where the love of his life, Bertha was waiting for him. On September 26, 1953 he married Bertha Ratz. They resided in Saskatoon, celebrating 65 years of marriage until his passing.
    Oswald and Bertha had 3 daughters: Dorothy Witt- Brenda (Raymond) Kingston- Cory (Melisa) Winslow, Christine (Derek) Rhode, Rayleen (Cory) Valentine, Ryan (Jennifer) Kingston, Gillian (Darcy) Olson, Tim (Bobbi Jo) Winslow, Kirsten (Mike) Gazo; Violet (Ennis) Sauer - Lisa Sauer (Travers Stephan). He has many great grandchildren that gave him great joy. Oswald was predeceased by his parents, his in-laws, his brothers and sisters, his grandson Jason Sauer and his granddaughter Cheryl Sauer. Oswald was a kind, quiet gentleman , who kept to himself. His family meant everything to him. His beloved Bertha will miss him as everything he did, he did for her. Dorothy was his concern and he did all he could for her as she was born mentally challenged. Oswald loved his family, enjoyed his friends and a good game of Elfer Raus and Kaiser. This gentle man will be greatly missed.
