Obituary of Lois Adele Trimble

Lois Adele Trimble (nee Wilson) passed away peacefully on January 24th 2019 at St. Paul’s Hospital at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Norman Trimble, in 2004. Mom was born in Regina, Sask. on June 20th, 1928 to Russel and Eva Wilson the second of three girls and spent her early years in Rosetown, Sask., Haney, BC and eventually Swift Current, Sask. It was there that she met and married her high school sweetheart Norman in 1947. They soon had 2 children a son Michael (Audrey) their children Mark (Karen), Scott and Paul (Michele) and daughter Eileen Antonishyn (Will) their children Cory, Tasha Brown (Warren), Jennifer Shaw (Shaun).

The family lived in Swift Current where she worked as a legal secretary, then moved to Shaunavon. There she was employed as a court stenographer.  In 1959 they moved to Saskatoon and here she retired to become a full time Mom concentrating on raising her family. She made several lifelong friends in the neighborhood. Mom had several interests, she was an avid reader and card player, she enjoyed horse back riding, golfing, skiing and traveling. In 1977 Lois and Norman moved to a Grandora acreage.  Mom and Dad loved these 160 acres of unbroken land.  She had her horses to ride with her close friends in the area. They took long walks alone or with children and grandchildren in tow. She cross country skied the fresh cut paths. She and Dad hosted numerous family gatherings.  Everyone knew they were always welcome in large groups or just one at a time.

In 2009, 5 years after Dad passed Mom moved back into Saskatoon to Bethany Manor.  Mom moved into the Personal Care Wing of Bethany in 2018.  The excellent care she received from all the staff there was a true blessing. We are so very grateful. She also enjoyed and had excellent care thru the Luther Day Program she attended in 2017-2018. Above all Mom loved her family.  She was always there for us and was interested in every aspect of ours lives.  She was an intelligent woman and a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother of 11 greats as she called them. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and special friends. She will be always loved and greatly missed.  Rest in peace Mom. The Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at Saskatoon Funeral Home.
