Obituary of Richard Allan Phillips

                                                                                                                                  Richard Allan Phillips
                                                                                                                                    (Phoenix Phillips)

It is with great sorrow that we announce that on March 18, 2019 we lost Rick Phillips (known as Phoenix to his friends).

He is survived by his daughter Brooklynn, his parents Janet & Rick Phillips, his sisters Bree (Chris) and Sandie (Len), his grandfather Keith Marlowe, his grandmother Anne Phillips, his best friend Tammy Chrusch, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rick didn’t give his friendship or love easily, but when he did you knew it.  There is nothing that he wouldn’t do for his friends and close family.  It is with pronounced sadness to know that his big heart gave out on him.

Rick spent years in Cadets and the Scouts where he developed a love of camping.  These past few summers he had been hospitalized and was unable to enjoy this past time.  He had very fond memories of spending summers at the Phillips’ cabin in Ontario.

Rick also loved to cook.  As evident by the pictures of his food creations that he posted on his Facebook page.  Janet will miss waking up to the smell of bacon first thing in the morning.

These past few years have been difficult for him but he was working towards changing his life.  His mom was proud of him and the effort he was making.

The family appreciates all the thoughts, prayers, and support that we have received in our time of grief. Rick will be greatly missed.

There will be a grave side service on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10 a.m.  We ask everyone to meet at the gates of Woodlawn Cemetery at 9:45 a.m. Following the service there will be a light lunch and get together at Station 20 West.
