Obituary of Ann Wack

Ann Wack, age 92 of Saskatoon, passed away peacefully at St. Ann’s Seniors’ Village on July 12, 2019.

Ann was born in Kiev, Poland to Andrew and Katherine Huk on Dec 25, 1926. The family immigrated to Canada in 1929 and settled in the Peesane, SK area where they farmed. Ann attended Normal School, earned her teaching certificate and taught at Rex School north of Lloydminster. She then met and married her husband Joe and they started their family. She was an exceptional gardener. She excelled at cooking, baking and sewing and was very involved in the Autism Services of Saskatoon. She excelled at any task she undertook as she gave it her all.

She is survived by her children Joanne Bailey (Brian), Marian Nicholson (Ed), Laraine Farquhar (Mal), Ron (Lynn), Harvey, 14 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Joe, infant daughter Arlene, and brothers Walter Dobrus of Winnipeg and Mike Huk of Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Autism Services of Saskatoon will be appreciated.

The Vigil of Prayer will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church and the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
