I am so sorry for this terrible loss, for Terry, Callum and the rest of the Luce family. I know the heartache of losing a child. The pain never goes away, but you learn how to live with it in their honor. May your loving memories of Heather help you through this terrible time and may God bless you all.
with prayers for all of you,
Sophie

Heather, She was so sweet and inviting. So loving and caring. Heather and I shared in a single moms group at Elim years ago. Her heart was so big and remember stories she told us in her living room. We grew together in faith... And were baptized together at Elim in 2014. About 6 months later, I was taken by a religious group and Heather vocalized publicly what a mistake I was making and how jesus loved me and to not walk away.
At the time I was in the grasp of satan and could not hear her voice of reasoning.
I re connected with her at a school she was teaching at, as I have been a school bus driver for 10 years. And there her smiling face greeted me. No judgement just love. I was happy to tell her I had left the religious group and once again was walking with Jesus. She smiled and hugged me. Heather, I wish we could have spoken or even embraced in a hug one last time. I will miss you, but will always carry your reasoning with me. And now sister your at peace in the care of our Father and Saviour Jesus Christ. Love

To Callum, Terry and the rest of Heather's family:
I am so sorry to hear of Heather's passing. My heart is very heavy for you.
I love that her obituary mentions her Canada Youth Exchange adventures. I was privileged to be a part of that time in her life as her "host mom" in Arnprior. She brought great joy and laughter to our household for the 3 plus months that we were blessed with her and Basanti (and the others). I, to this day, have a picture of the 2 of them on my bookcase at home. They are memories that I will forever hold dear in my heart.
Selfishly, I am sad that I didn't get to chat with her lately, but we had a few good chats via Facebook within the last couple of years. During one of those chats she told me how she found strength in her faith and in God. She told me that she often thought of the times when she was with me and she went to church with me. She said that had a lastly effect on her faith journey. That ranks high as one of the best things anyone has ever said to me.
My prayers go out to you all, with special intentions for Callum. May you all find the strength in faith and God that Heather had during this incredibly difficult time. God Bless you all; and Godspeed Heather, you will forever live in my heart.
Lynn

My sympathies to the family and her dear son, Callum. My heart is heavy because I knew Heather was always determined to go the next mile and would never give up. This was seen in her classroom and with the students she taught and mentored. I had then pleasure of teaching with Heather at Howard Coad. I often would sneak into her classroom during my prep to see what fabulous things she had going on with her grade eight students. She was always smiling and her outlook on life was a glass half full. She was an amazing woman!
