Obituary of Kenneth Alistair Grant

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth Grant on February 15, 2020, while in the care of St. Paul’s Palliative Care.  Ken will be lovingly missed by Mavis, his wife of 52 years; daughter Janet (John); grandchildren Jordan and Sara; sister-in-law Marilyn Chorney (Melany, Francois, David and Arancha) and several cousins.  He was predeceased by his parents, Isabel and Ian Grant; son, Cameron and brother-in-law Bill Chorney.  Ken began a long career with Air Canada in 1967.  Following his retirement, he worked for the Corp of Commissionaires.  He will be remembered for his warm and friendly smile as well as his pleasant personality.  Ken was passionate about sports and he was truly an avid Blue Jay and Roughrider fan.  His love of golf started as a teenager and continued until deteriorating health prevented him from participating.  He faced these health problems with dignity, grace and determination. The family appreciates the loving care he received from Dr. W. Haver, as well as the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital and the Peritoneal Dialysis Unit.  To honor Ken’s memory, the family invites his friends to gather at Saskatoon Golf and Country Club (865 Cartwright St. W) for a Celebration of Life on March 6th, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., with Sue Panattoni as celebrant.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation (1702 20th St. W. Saskatoon, SK S7M 0Z9)
