Obituary of Rosie Babiy

It is with sadness the family of Rosie Babiy announce her passing on  February 21, 2020 at the Hafford Long Term Nursing Home at the age of 97. She is lovingly remembered and forever cherished by her children, Willis (Joanne), Morris, Rosemarie (Gerald) and Victor; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sister Sally and brothers Mike (Alvena) and John (Rose). She was predeceased by her parents Steven and Pearl Marchuk, husband Peter Babiy, daughters Emily Jane and Patricia Sharon, brother Peter Marchuk, and sisters Anne, Jean, Natalie, and Mary.  Rosie was born January 4, 1923 in the Blaine Lake area, attended Sich School, and was a member of Sich Church for many years.  She married Peter Babiy on February 21, 1940 and they lived on the farm until 1987 when they moved to Blaine Lake. Rosie enjoyed sewing, quilting and reading, was a great cook, and was especially fond of singing hymns from her time at church. She absolutely loved visits with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated by Father Mick Fleming C.Ss.R. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home (338 4th Ave. N.) with interment to follow at Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery.
