It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald David Stewart. The death of Ronald Stewart, age 73, occurred on April 30, 2020 at Royal University Hospital. A special thank you to the Doctors and staff and the Medical Assistance In Dying program. He is survived by his wife Shirley; sons Ken and Dwayne (Monique); 5 grandchildren; 1 sister, 3 brothers, and two sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by his parents David and Mary (Moskol); brothers Gerald and Art. As a young man Ron worked in construction, where he operated heavy equipment, drove transport trucks, then hired on with Canadian Pacific Railroad. He was a Trainman, Conductor and Engineer. He retired after 33 years of service. Ron had a few hobbies which included putting together 1000 piece train puzzles, large binders of train cards, books on different trains from all over the world, did the Skagway White Pass Railroad Summit Excursion in Alaska and golfing (a hole in one at Silverwood Golf Course), but most of all he enjoyed his retirement years travelling with his wife Shirley to whom he was married for almost 52 (June 29th) years. Ron loved new experiences, like going in the Atlantis Submarine in Barbados, swimming with the dolphins in the Isle of Margarita, entertainment on the Catamaran in Cuba, zip lining in Punta Cana, helicopter ride over Vegas, float plane ride over Vancouver, street car/trolleys in San Francisco, hop on-hop off water taxi in New York and hot air balloon ride in Saskatoon to name a few. Following cremation, Ron will be placed in the Columbarium at St. John’s Cathedral.

For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest,
So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we will eternally keep.
