Tina Fast

Obituary of Tina Fast

But those who hope in the LORD

Will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles

They will run and not grow weary,

They will walk and not be faint.
                                  Isaiah 40:31

On July 3, 2020 at the age of 88, Tina Fast (Bickert) soared on wings like eagles to her eternal home. Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, Mutti leaves many hearts heavy. Born on a farm near Borden, she personified the image of a hard-working Mennonite woman. She was an accomplished cook, capable seamstress, appliance repair person and wrangler/nurturer of her herd of children and grandchildren. She was known for her kindness and generosity. She married Robert in 1953 and was the loving mother to four children, the adored grandmother of seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and great grandmother to five little sprouts. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, son-in-law Rick Kalytuk, and all of her sisters and brothers. She is survived by her children, Marcell, Patricia Kalytuk (Gary Wurst), Kerry (Nicole) Begrand-Fast, Douglas (Gail); grandchildren, Robert (Angela) Fast, Shelley Kalytuk (Alex Hoppe), Michael Kalytuk, Paris Begrand-Fast, Pascal Begrand-Fast, Madelaine Fast, Tucker Fast, Harper Fast; step-grandchildren, Josh (Joy-Anne) Wurst, Nathan (Sara) Wurst, Alex Wurst; great grandchildren, Banner Fast, Bruin Fast, Ethan Wurst, Erika Wurst and Connor Wurst. Her last years were spent as part of the Central Haven Special Care Home family where she was cared for by an amazing and dedicated group of individuals. The family sends our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Central Haven for the many kindnesses shown to our matriarch. A memorial service will be held in September; details to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest a donation to the Mennonite Central Committee Saskatchewan.
