Arleen Andrea Pound (Hand) passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 18, 2020.  She was predeceased by her husband Wes, and parents Alvin and Hettie Hand.  Arleen will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Charlene, son Braden (Renee), grandchildren Sam and Lauren, nieces Debbie (Scott) Cockbill, Dianna(Ron) Harms, and Danine(Dave) Webber, nephew Donald Jeffery, her cousins and friends.  Arleen was born and raised in Kelvington and after high school moved to Saskatoon to attend secretarial college.  Arleen was employed by Robin Hood Flour Mills where she met her future husband Wes.  In the 1970’s Arleen started working at the University of Saskatchewan as an administrative assistant, first in the Department of Physics and later in the Department of Economics. One of Arleen’s favorite past times was gardening and she started the majority of her plants in their greenhouse.  Arleen had a fabulous yard and one year it was featured in Saskatoon’s Horticultural Society’s Garden Tour.  Some of her other favorite activities included sewing, quilting, petit point and travelling to Hawaii and Phoenix.  Arleen retired in 2001 and started golfing with her loyal group of girlfriends the” golfing grannies”.    Arleen’s family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Stonebridge Crossing Retirement Community, Dr. Barbara Anderson and Dr. Erica Penz. A graveside service for those who wish to attend will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens on Monday, August 24 at 1:30 p.m. (210 Wess Rd,  east on 8th St, first right past Briargate Rd). Those wishing to attend can meet at the Cemetery gates at 1:20 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan Inc, 1405 Faulkner Cr., Saskatoon SK. S7L 3R5.
