Barbara Wilson

Obituary of Barbara Wilson

WILSON,
Barbara Lynn
1951 - 2020

It is with great sadness, but also great memories and tremendous pride, that we celebrate the life of Barbara Lynn Wilson of Saskatoon. Barb and Wayne Wilson were married for 47 years. Barb has three children; son Sean Wilson(Mel), daughter Sara Dumas, and daughter Jennifer Korney (Kris). Her grandchildren, Luke &Drew (Mel & Sean) and Berk & Davis (Jen & Kris), love and remember her as “Granny”. Barb is also survived by her brother Jim Drake (Gwen Schmidt) and sister Margaret Harvey (Alex Harvey). Barb lost her 14 year battle with lung cancer in the early hours of September 20th, 2020. She passed away at home in moderate comfort and peace with Wayne by her side. Those that knew Barb knew she led an extraordinary life. She was liked and loved by many. We could write many things about her life story but would like to save those to share in person with family and friends when we have a celebration of her life in the future. Our family would like to give a special thanks to our friend and family doctor, Steven Goluboff, as he was by her side (and ours) for her 14 year cancer journey. Thank you to the remarkable team at Palliative Care Services in Saskatoon, who helped us through the process of making sure Barb was comfortable and peaceful at home for her final weeks of life. This is an amazing program and group of people and we could not have made it without them. Donations to either the Saskatoon Cancer Center or to Lung Cancer Canada are greatly appreciated by Barb’s family. Plans are in progress for a celebration of life gathering but they may be delayed due to COVID-19 regulations. In closing, we want to share that Barb set the standard for our family. Love you always, rest in peace, we will never forget the legacy you have left us. Condolences may be left for the family at www.saskatoonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home.
