She belonged to the Scandinavian Club and was also a member for several years of the Wandering Wheels recreational camping club. She was lifetime member of the Saskatoon Craft Guild where she tried a new craft every year. One of her favorite crafts was tatting, which she also taught to other members of the group. She enjoyed writing poetry and would often dream up a poem for a special occasion in the middle of the night. She was also interested in astronomy and would often stay up late to watch an eclipse or other natural event. She enjoyed sports too, particularly the Toronto Blue Jays when they were on a winning roll.
