Obituary of Emile Agarand

Emile Eugene Agarand beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 in Saskatoon. Emile was born in Sonningdale SK January 29, 1926. He attended school in Sonningdale to grade 12. In 1944 he joined the armed forces with the Fearsome Threesome, Gerald Ferguson, Brem Donaldson and himself. He was 18 years old. He came home after the war and met a sweet young teacher who was boarding at his parents. He married Anne Salyn, the love of his life on January 2, 1948 and they raised 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. They moved to Vancouver for 3 years and returned to Sonningdale in 1951 where they farmed and ran the post office for 35 years. In 2009 they moved to the Legion Manor in Saskatoon and in November 2014, Emile moved to Preston Park II. He will be sadly missed by his children: Heather (Gary Chambers), Carrie (Don Elliott), Barry (Leah Patrick); grandchildren; Courtney Walker (Andrew Strople), Bree Elliott (Jesse Sadlowski), Brooke Walker (Chris Sielecki), Brody Elliott (Nichole Elliott), Julian Agarand, Jenna Agarand (Sara Williams); step grandson Scott Patrick. Great Grandchildren; Maren Strople, Memphis and Amelia Sadlowski, Sloane and Sawyer Elliott. Sister, Elaine (Carman Kent) daughter in law Audrey Agarand. Emile was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Anne Salyn, parents Jules and Nellie Agarand and brother Arnold Agarand. Emile will be missed for his quick sense of humor and love of a good joke. He was a talented Carpenter, Farmer and Post Master. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and traveling spending many winters in Desert Hot Springs, CA.

Funeral

Visitation will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home: 338- 4th Avenue North on Monday, October 19 from 7-9 pm. Funeral Services will be held in Sonningdale Hall Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 2 pm.
