It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Marjorie “Carrol” Piprell on November 7th, 2021. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Patrick and Aaron (Jenn); and granddaughters, Allison and Isabelle Piprell. As well as her siblings, Ed Mooney, Erin (Marilyn) Mooney, Marilyn Ulrickson, Sherron (Will) Steckler, Linda (Dennis Wall) Mooney, Gail Mooney, Jim (Teresa) Mooney, Gail Mooney; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and close lifelong friends.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Gerald Piprell in 2016; son, Shaun Piprell; granddaughter, Ashley Blixrud; sisters, Jeanine Garmen and Joyce Cooper; and brothers, Calvin Mooney and Dan Mooney.

Carrol was born November 27th, 1938 in Steward, SK. and grew up on the Mooney farm near Imperial, SK. She met Gerry while working as a nurse’s aide at the Borden Hospital. They lived on the Piprell homestead farm and raised 3 sons while working at the Borden Hospital. Carrol later moved to Saskatoon. SK. in 1997 where she was an avid volunteer who worked tirelessly helping refugees make a home in Saskatoon, Palliative Care Unit with St. Paul's Hospital and at the airport welcoming travellers. She was awarded the Saskatchewan Centennial Medal. She loved the arts and played the piano any chance she got. Family, friends and especially her granddaughters gave her the greatest joys in life. Special thanks to Gerbrandt Care Home for providing care for Carrol in her final months.

A celebration of Carrols life will be held on November 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Saskatoon Funeral Home. A small reception will he held across the street at the Edwards Family Centre immediately after the service. Internment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan are gratefully accepted.
