Evangeline (Vangy) Margaret Heagy, passed away peacefully at her home in Saskatoon into the presence of the Lord on January 16, 2022.

Vangy was born in Fenwood, SK, the youngest and last surviving child of William and Katherine Baron. They operated a general store and a number of other businesses in which most of the family was involved. She attended Canadian Bible College in Regina in 1951 – 1952, after which she moved to Melville, SK where she was employed at St. Peters Hospital. In 1955 she returned to Regina and was employed at the Medical Arts Clinic business office. She met her future husband, Clare Heagy, in Regina and they were married on June 21, 1958.

Vangy and Clare moved to Saskatoon in 1960 and she became a full-time mom to Brent and Brian. In 1983 she worked part-time in Clare’s office as a clerical assistant and then worked part-time with a gift shop. She enjoyed community involvements with various organizations.

Vangy came to faith in Christ at an early age and her close relationship with Him was evident in every area of her life.  She was a great wife, loving mother, special grandmother and trusted friend.

Vangy created a home of love and acceptance for all.  Gatherings with friends, relatives and friends of her sons were common.  Having people gather, the sounds of laughter and everyone enjoying her wonderful cooking brought her great joy.  Her culinary skills were renowned.

She was also a wonderful partner to Clare over their 63 year marriage.  She was a strong support for Clare in his business and became a friend to many of his clients and business associates.    Wherever they went, people could see their loving, caring relationship.  It was a true partnership where they supported and encouraged each other that has been an example for many.

When Brent and Brian found the loves of their life in Jill and Marlynn she accepted and loved them as if they were her own daughters.  She also loved her role as a grandmother.  As the families of Brent and Brian grew, she built precious relationships with each of her grandchildren and watched closely with great pride as they grew to be successful adults.

She was much loved and will be missed dearly by her husband Clare, her two sons and their families, Brent (Jill) of Calgary, AB and their children Lindsey and Joshua, Brian (Marlynn) of Saskatoon, SK and their children Carson, Rochelle, and Carlie (Mackenzie Russell).  She was predeceased by her parents, 7 sisters, 3 brothers and five siblings in infancy.
