Obituary of Scott Russell

RUSSELL - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Scott Russell at RUH on November 27th, 2015 at the age of 72. Scott was predeceased by his Dad, George, November 5, 1989 and his brother-in-law, Alf MacKeil December 12, 2006. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 49 years Dolly; his daughter Staci (Patrick) Hosking his son Cameron (Jessica) as well as three grandchildren, Bailey & Riley Hosking, Martina Russell; his mother Marjorie; sister Penny MacKeil as well as extended family and friends. Scott was born in Saskatoon, attended Victoria school and Nutana Collegiate. As a young man he played minor hockey and later played with the Saskatoon Hilltops. His professional career started with the Saskatoon Fire Department in 1966 and rose to the ranks of Deputy Assistant Chief. He retired in 2002. His contributions to the community included many projects with the Saskatoon Kinsmen Club serving as President, chairman of Telemiracle 7 and serving on the District Executive. Scott was also instrumental in bringing the Sask. Ronald McDonald House to Saskatoon. He enjoyed his retirement years travelling to Melbourne Australia to spend time with his grandsons. He also loved to golf and solve all the world’s problems with his Tuesday and Saturday morning coffee buddies. In memory of Scott donations can be made to the Sask. Funeral

It was Scott’s request that there be no funeral. His family invites you to celebrate his life with a Happy Hour at the Sheraton Cavalier, South Room, December 7th, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 700 p.m
