It is with heavy hearts that the family of Morris Oleksyn announce his passing on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the age of 87 years.

Uncle Morris was born in the St. Julien District on December 28, 1934. He farmed with  his brother Mike (Arlene) until they retired from farming in April 2003 and he then moved to Wakaw. He enjoyed fly-in fishing trips in his younger days, but in retirement, he enjoyed watching sports, especially hockey, baseball and boxing. Uncle Morris was a quiet, caring individual who was very generous and was always willing to help when needed.

Uncle Morris will be remembered by his sisters-in-law Arlene Oleksyn and Sylvia Oleksyn and his many nieces and nephews. He will be forever missed by Darrell (Glenda) and their children Nyk and Erin, Maureen (Dean) and their daughter Marissa, and Kenny (Laura) as he will always hold a special place in our family and in our hearts.

Uncle Morris was predeceased by his parents Nick and Anna Oleksyn, his sisters Mary Chomyn and Olga Bodnarchuk, his brothers Mike Oleksyn and Ed Oleksyn and nephew Dale Chomyn. The family would like to thank all the staff at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert who compassionately cared for Uncle Morris during his time there. In lieu of flowers for those so wishing donations may be made to a charity of choice in memory of Uncle Morris.

The Funeral Service will be officiated by the Very Reverend Peter Wasylenko on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Saskatoon Funeral Home, (338 4th Ave. N.)  For those unable to attend in person the service will be livestreamed and can be accessed by the link at the top of this page.
