Ernest Frizzell

Obituary of Ernest Frizzell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ernie Frizzell at the age of 86 years. He was born in Saskatoon and raised in Prince Albert. When he was 18 he returned to Saskatoon where he resided for the remainder of his life. For 67 years Ernie had a career as a barber and for the last 35 of those years he was the proprietor of Ernie's Barber Shop on Taylor Street and Lorne Avenue. He developed a devoted clientele who became his longtime friends. Ernie was known for giving close cuts, straight razor shaves, and his dry sense of humour. Ernie will be lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Betty Frizzell; his nieces Janice (Brian) Marshall, Gail Kosinski and his nephews Craig (May) Frizzell, Norm Frizzell, Ron (Angie) Frizzell all of Edmonton, Alberta. Extended family and friends in Saskatchewan and Alberta will remember Ernie fondly for his kind heart and generous nature. Ernie was predeceased by his two older brothers, Wil Frizzell and Ferg Frizzell, both from Edmonton, Alberta. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Edwards Family Centre (333 – 4th Avenue North, courtesy parking at Saskatoon Funeral Home). In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 101 - 440 2nd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2C3. We wish to sincerely thank Cyndi and her staff at Rehoboth Elder Care Maguire Court for their kindness and compassion during Ernie's last days.
