Herb Frank

Obituary of Herb Frank

Herb Frank passed away peacefully at his home on December 31, 2015 at the age of 64. Herb was born to parents Herbert Malcolm Frank and Jean Winnifred (Crawford) Frank on August 23, 1951 in Strathroy, Ontario. He grew up as the eldest of six and attended North Lambton Secondary School in Forest, Ontario. Herb couldn't wait to follow in his father's footsteps and he left school at the age of 17 to enlist in the Canadian Airborne. He served as a field engineer, just like his father, for three years. His time in the military gave him the chance to discover his love for the prairies, where he lived most of the rest of his life. Herb had many interests in life. He loved the outdoors and he loved to spend time in it – fishing, hunting, camping, and getting away from the city and crowds. He went back to school when he was 30 and completed his Grade 12 and enrolled in University in pursuit of a Biology degree. Herb was the most passionate about the people in his life He was a true friend and a wonderful and loving father. He loved a good visit, a game of cribbage, a great story and a big belly laugh. He loved and treasured his children above all else and was never happier than when he was with them. His heart burst with love and he beamed at the thought of talking with or about his children. Herb is lovingly survived and always missed by his three children - Jennifer, Shane and Keith Frank, all of Saskatoon. Herb is also survived by his five siblings in Ontario – James Frank, Liz Frank, Shirley Heisz, Virginia Frank and Marj Frank, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers or donations, Herb's children request that you keep his memory alive and flourishing by sharing your favourite Herb story with them. -
