Obituary of Ronald Jean

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of this caring and big hearted man who touched so many lives. Ron passed away suddenly and peacefully on Friday January 8th at the age of 62. Ron was born July 15th 1953 to Gerard and Margaret (Boddy) Jean. He is survived by his loving wife Lauraine (Istace), daughters Nicole and Christina, granddaughters Cassandra and Emma-Lee, siblings Marc (Trudy), Dan (Carmen), Michel (Michelle), Edward (Colleen), Terry (Janet), Sheri (Derek) and his in-laws Yvette (Jerry), Louise, Armand (Judy), and Robert. His numerous nieces and nephews he loved dearly. His cousins were more like siblings to him as well. He was predeceased by his mother Margaret, mother- in-law and father-in-law Clem and Blanche as well as his brother-in-law Ed Artic and niece Aimee Jean. He met his sunshine and love of his life Lauraine while in high school at Holy Cross when they were 16. They dated for four years and have been married for 42 years. They were blessed with two daughters. They were overjoyed when their twin granddaughters joined our family. Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face or gave him more joy than watching his Princesses grow and spending time with them. Ron made his career in water treatment and has worked for over 30 years for The Water Clinic where he formed another extension to his family. He was an exceptional source of knowledge to everyone that knew him. He was always interested in learning, current events, and his favorite sports teams the Roughriders and the Habs. Nothing meant more to dad than his family and friends. In lieu of flowers (due to allergies) donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his honour would be appreciated by the family.
