Lori Garvie

April 19, 1938 - November 10, 2022

Lori passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022 at the Hospice at Glengarda at the age of 84.  She is survived by her son Mike (Lisa) and their children, Harrison, Jeremy and Jordan;  Jodi (James) and their children, Ben and Logan;  James (Cindy) and their son Dawson, and her extended family.

Lori is predeceased by her husband Calvin, her parents Louis & Thelma Tubb, and her sisters, Georgie and Carol, as well as many other dear extended family members.

Lori was born in Saskatoon on April 19th, 1938.  She attended Victoria and Caswell schools, graduated from Bedford Road Collegiate and went on to Saskatoon Teachers’ College.  Her career started at the age of 19, teaching in Kindersley, Saskatoon and Calgary.  It was there that she met Cal and they married in 1967.  They started a family in Calgary and later moved to Nanaimo, calling that home for several years.  Following them there were her in-laws, living next door where she helped care for them in their later years.  In the 90’s, they moved back to Saskatoon and made a priority of family gatherings in her Mom’s final years.  Family was so important to her and she cherished all the times together.  Upon retirement, she adored the family time spent in Lanzville for a couple of years.  Once back in Saskatoon, Lori enjoyed gardening, crosswords, reading, her favourite tv shows, lunch with friends and most of all her grandchildren.  Mom was the last surviving member of her immediate family whom she missed dearly; especially her special connection with her two sisters.

Anything she put her hand to was perfectly done.  From crafting, canning and painting to keeping her house very organized.  She also had perfect penmanship.  Weekly family suppers were special to her and quite often ended in a game of cards.  She loved her snacks, Cheetos or popcorn with a can of Coke.  She had a knack for story telling and a memorable laugh.
She will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice at Glengarda. Thank you to all the staff at the Hospice for providing such excellent care.

The family will be having a private service.
