Obituary of Katherine Romanchuk

Katherine Romanchuk 1928 – 2016 Katherine died peacefully in Saskatoon due to the complications of melanoma on February 14, 2016. She was born in Vilna, Alberta, being the ninth of twelve children of her parents Prokop and Nastasia Semeluk, and being the last surviving sibling. Katherine was predeceased by her husband, William, in 1977. She is survived by her two sons Ken (Patricia) and Don (Jane), as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Katherine attended public school in Pine Knoll, Alberta, and then McTavish Business College in Edmonton. She was an avid reader, a successful gardener, a kind mother, and a compassionate individual. She left a legacy of cultural materials. In later life, she enjoyed travelling to historical churches in Europe with her family. Her family would like to thank Dr. Ron Kostyniuk, Dr. Tahir Abbas, Dr. Nazir Ahmad, and the home palliative care team for their kind care.

Funeral

Her prayer service and funeral will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Thursday February 18, 2016 followed by internment next to her husband, William, at Woodlawn cemetery in Saskatoon.
