I was biology student of Dr. Somers. He was one of my favourite teachers and was always so encouraging and positive. I didn't realize they moved to Saskatoon until I read obituary. Attaching staff photo from Sheldon Williams Collegiate year book. Jan (Jeannette)

Don was a member of the Board of McClure Place Association at the time of his passing, and many years earlier he had also served on the Board. He was truly a valued member and will be missed. Personally, in my 30+ years of knowing Don, I always found him to be very affable and just an interesting fellow. On behalf of the Board, I extend sincere condolences to Don’s family on his sudden passing. I trust that a lifetime of great memories will be of considerable solace to you now and in the days ahead.
With sympathy,
Jim Kells, Board Chair, McClure Place Association

Rita Mirwald posted a condolence

I apologize for this very belated posting, but as a former colleague and friend of Don's I very much wanted to add my condolences to the family who will dearly miss this caring patriarch in their lives. I worked with Don in the mid to late 80s at Sask.Mining Development Corporation and in the early days of Cameco. We faced many serious issues and I always found Don to be a steading influence during times of crisis and a thoughtful strategist when that was needed. Very sorry to hear of his passing ...and again, my apologies for this delayed response. Rita Mirwald
