Obituary of Audrey Melbo

Audrey Melbo Audrey passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital on Monday, March 7, 2016, having recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Born to Harold and Alma Melbo in 1926, she spent her early years in Kyle, SK. She began her working life as a legal secretary in Vancouver and continued in that career when she returned to Saskatoon to be with her aging parents. In retirement she volunteered at RUH, the UNICEF Store and knit mittens to donate to various charities. Audrey loved to travel. Special trips included Europe with her cousin, Olive, Alaska with her friend, Sheila, and Hawaii with her cousin, Ruby. Family played an important role in Audrey’s life and she loved to spend time with relatives. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church. Some of Audrey’s happiest years were spent enjoying the companionship of her American Eskimo dog, Casey. She was a voracious reader and even in the last few years you would often see her with a box of library books she had just finished. Audrey remained fiercely independent until the end of her life. Audrey will be missed by her family: Rae Vogel of Saskatoon, Glenn and Diana Gunderson and family of Kyle, Kris (Lee) Ryan of Saskatoon, Floyd Jordheim and family of Kyle, Sig Jordheim and family of Kyle, Craig and Adair Vogel and family of Kindersley, and Daryl and Kim Vogel and family of Kindersley.
