Obituary of Joan Doris Nagel

Joan Doris Nagel (nee: Stewart) was born in Saskatoon on July 6, 1952. She married Dennis Wayne Nagel on June 9, 1973. They were not blessed with any children.

She is survived by two sisters; Carol Colban (Roger) of Mission B.C. and Faye Perry of Saskatoon and special great nephew Jesse Stewart (mother Veronica and husband Biman of Saskatoon). She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by her husband Dennis Nagel on December 3, 1993, an older brother Bert Stewart on July 31, 1981, father Demijohn Stewart on November 27, 1986, mother Edythe Stewart on March 7, 1988 and youngest brother Len on April 14 .2010, Faye’s husband Don on September 14, 2010, in laws Louis Nagel on November 20, 1991 and mother in law Ida on November 5, 2011.

Joan worked at Zellers at Market Mall stocking shelves until the store closed in June 2012. In July 2012 she was hired by Walmart and worked on the overnight renovation crew at which time they were changing the Preston Crossing store into a Superstore. Upon completion of the renovation she was hired to stock shelves in the same departments as when she was at Zellers: housewares, vacuums, totes etc. on the overnight shift. She worked there until October 2014 when she retired.

She was an affiliate member of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans #38. For over forty years she worked cribbage tournaments and other events for the Club. She played darts in dart tournaments with her darts partner Ron Yake.

Many thanks to her family Dr. Garry Rebalkin and Rheumatologist Dr. Patrice Pollock . They hold a special place in her heart.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes, cremation will take place. There will be no public funeral service.
