Emily Davio

December 5, 1944 - April 8, 2023 aged 78.

 

 

Emily passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a long illness. 

 

She was born on December 5, 1944 to Lena and Anthony Lapesky of Shell Lake Saskatchewan. She attended Lynwood School before completing high school in Shell Lake and then graduated from Holy Family Nursing in 1965. Emily was a brilliant nurse, with many years of service that began at the Saskatoon Convalescent home and decades at St. Paul’s Hospital. As a mature student she continued her education to become a nurse practitioner at McMaster University and serviced northern communities such as Montreal lake, Cumberland House, Deschambault and the far north in Iqaluit. She will be remembered as a strong woman who loved her family fiercely and deeply.

 

Emily is survived by her children: Genevieve Barlas of Saskatoon; Michael (Barbara) Davio of Shell Lake, Jaimie Davio of Saskatoon; Robert (Helen) Davio of Calgary. Her grandchildren: Emily, Mac, Taso and Angela, Dillon and Shelby, Spencer, Quinn, and Lily, Mila and Brady. Her siblings Allan, Eileen and Evelyn and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Emily was was predeceased by the father of her children George Davio, and her beloved son Anthony Rolland in 1969, her parents, Anthony and Lena Lapesky, her brother Art Lapetsky and sister Lorraine Crawford and son-in-law Manolis Barlas

 

The funeral will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home at 10:30 AM on Thursday April 13, 2023.  A private internment for immediate family will be held immediately following where she will be laid to rest at Woodlawn cemetery alongside her son.
