Obituary of Sharon Elaine Cardwell

Sharon Elaine Cardwell of Saskatoon passed away April 23, 2023 in the company of her family.   

Sharon was born June 5, 1940 in Weyburn to Violet and Howard Bell.  She graduated from Colgate High School in 1958 and completed her R.N., B.Sc. Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan in 1963.  After graduation Sharon worked with VON in Montreal, First Nations Health Services in North Battleford, and enjoyed a long career as a Genetic Counsellor with the Division of Medical Genetics at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon until retirement in 2006.   

Sharon married Ted in 1963. Their three sons Stephen, Dean, and Ryan and families gave her and Ted five grandchildren.   

Sharon enjoyed travel, life at the lake, gardening, music, and gatherings with family and friends.   

Sharon was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband Ted, her three sons Stephen (Jen Lajoie and children Conor & Claire), Dean (daughter Emma), Ryan (Caroline Kowal and children Clark & Olenka), sister Bonnie and her family, and sister-in-law Starr Cardwell and her family.   Sharon was a friend to all, a generous, gentle, and kind lady of love.   

A private memorial will be held at the Cardwell family cabin.
