We (Deborah and Rachel Southworth) knew Elaine when we attended Saskatoon Christian Centre School. She was our very talented music teacher. We had a lot of fun with her as she was teaching us harmonies. We ended up winning an award in a duet together as a result of her voice training. Many other groups including trios, quartets and ensembles we won awards for. We will never forget her care, compassion, sense of humour and kindness. We know she is singing and playing piano in Heaven!
These photos were taken in Dallas, Texas around 1984 when we attended the Christian School Convention as a result of winning at the provincial level. We moved away from Saskatoon after that to Lethbridge, Alberta and this was the last time we saw Elaine. All our love to Ken and her family! Deborah, Rachel and Janice Southworth

I remember being in Calvary Church's teen sunday school class with Ken & Elaine as my teachers. I loved their class so much because they didn't just teach a standard class but discussed current issues like dances, drinking etc - we would voice our thoughts & then they would lead us into the scriptures to find out what God (not our parents, teachers, peers) said on the issues that were relevant to us at that time. Over the years I have tried to replicate that class on various occasions when teaching youth in sunday school.
Ken and Elaine were such cool role models for those of us in our teens. They had a love for Christ that came across as very real & personal. They had a love for those in need, those who had lost their way and those who were hurting.
To the Schultz family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Even though I am now in my 60's, the memories of your mom/sister/wife still bring a smile to my face & a warmth to my heart. May God grant you His perfect peace as you celebrate Elaine's life.

Last time I saw Ken & Elaine was at Tastebuds about 4 years ago. It was fascinating to catch up on the years we’d been apart.
As a Social Worker I somehow met this young couple fresh out of College. They were supporting homeless teens (no funding). For a Social Worker they were like finding a “gold mine’ in support of young humans. They were amazing foster parents to many young people. Many of these now adults still keep in contact 50 years later.
Ken and Elaine were such an amazing team, modeling kindness, calmness, caring, purposefulness, reliability, patience, determination, enthusiasm, respect, compassion, responsibility, cleanliness, honesty, gratitude, trust, truth, generosity, joyfulness, importance of chores and gardening. They had a willingness to offer a second chance with expectations. They developed respect from educators and law agencies.
Elaine your work on Earth was so valued, your friendships to many was so valued. Your investment in people will live on forever.
We will hear your laughter and it will make us smile.
Hugs to Ken and the family.

Auntie Elaine will be missed here on earth. She was always the “young and fun” aunt. She loved freely and her laughter was infectious. I can only imagine how she is rejoicing in heaven! My condolences to uncle Ken and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
