Ronald Migneault

Obituary of Ronald Winston Migneault

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Ron Migneault on May 28, 2023 at the age of 81 years. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn and sons Dean (Donna) and Alan (Janna); grandchildren Steven, Christina, AJ, Amy and Megan; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers Harley (Gerry) Quintin, Maurice (Michelle) Quintin; and sister Teresa (Marcel) Paradis. Ron was predeceased by his mother, Olive Quintin, step-father Gaston Quintin, and brothers Jerome Quintin and Don Migneault.

In 2022, after 80 years, Ron was excited to be connected with the family of his late birth father (Peter Shiels) and was very happy to have met all of his half-siblings, Karen Stusrud, Ken Shiels, Rob Shiels, and Fran Marlin.

Ron was born in Gull Lake, SK. He was very active in many sports, his favourite of which was fastball which he was fortunate to play semi-pro for several years. Ron loved participating in his family’s activities and was often seen behind the bench or driving the team bus. Over the years, Ron and Marilyn were active in curling and many other social activities. He spent his entire working career of over 40 years with Ackland’s, where he developed several long-term friendships.

Our family has many fond memories that will forever be cherished. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the doctors and care providers who helped Ron over the past few years and ensured his comfort.

For those so wishing, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to a charity of your choice.

Funeral services for Ron will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4th Ave. North. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
