Obituary of Mildred Horbay

Mildred Horbay 1928 – 2016 It is with heavy hearts Mildred’s family announces her passing on May 3, 2016 at the Royal University Hospital. Mildred is survived by her daughter Bev McBee and son Tim Horbay. She was predeceased by her husband Jerry; daughter Karen and son Greg. Mildred was born in Valley River, MB and was raised in Muenster, SK. Upon completing her schooling in Muenster, she attended Saskatoon Business College. Mildred married Jerry on June 20, 1949. Through out the years Mildred was employed at Ashdowns, McLeods and for many years at Federated Co-op until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Philip Neri Parish and belonged to both St. Philips Golden Age Group and Columbian Seniors, where she enjoyed playing cards. Mildred enjoyed gardening, cooking, travel and trips to the casino. Family get togethers, holidays were favorite times for Mildred, she enjoyed nothing more than cooking and playing cards at these times. Her Saturday evening suppers after mass each week either going out or back to her house where she would cook and then play cards was a highlight to her week. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday May 9, 2016 at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Parish. Rite of Committal will take place in Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery.
