Obituary of Yuk Wong

Yuk Wong passed away peacefully but suddenly at 12:30 pm on the 10th of July, 2016 in Sunnyside Care Centre. She was preparing herself to attend a family dinner that afternoon but her heart finally failed her. Although she had suffered from heart problems for many years, she was able to live by herself in an apartment until the end of February of this year. Since then her health declined quickly and for the last month has been living at the long term care home. She was born on June 21, 1922 in a small village in Canton Province, China. She married an employee of her Dad’s restaurant in 1942 and they lived happily together until his passing in 2013. Together they raised a family of 2 boys and 4 girls. They have 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She has been an excellent supporting wife to her husband and caring mother for her family. In 1981 she immigrated to Saskatoon, Canada. She is survived by decedents in Canada, Australia and Hong Kong. In Saskatoon are: son Siu Keung and his wife Irene, daughter Wendymei, Anita and her husband John, grandson Keith and his wife Lee, great grandson Kian and Grayson. In Calgary are: granddaughter Wancy and her husband Jason. In Australia are: son Siu Hung and his family. In Hong Kong are: daughter Lai Wah and her family, grandson Wai Ming Sin and his family. She was outgoing and friendly, well-liked by her friends and well loved by her family. She is famous among her friends for her homemade Chinese Dim sum (an active hobby until she reached 91 years old

Funeral

The Funeral service will be held on Saturday July 16, 2016 at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4th Ave N, beginning at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
