Paul Matlock

Obituary of Paul Matlock

Paul Marcel Matlock 1926 - 2016 On July 10, 2016, our dad was reunited with our mother. With considerable sadness, we announce the passing of Paul M. Matlock, age 90. He grew up in the Broderick district before moving to Saskatoon. Paul had a life well lived. From his Costco runs, his coffee row friends to his time spent at the farm, his involvement in the Saskatoon General Radio Club and their work with various volunteer organizations, and his work with Pion-Era, Paul enjoyed every day. His life’s work was being an accountant, a profession he practiced until he retired fully in his 80s. He also liked to travel with Cathy and his children, making trips to CB jamborees in western Canada, the Turks and Caicos Islands, Hawaii, Victoria, Arizona, and the eastern Caribbean on a cruise. He loved spending time with his family. Paul is survived by children Neil (Rita); Keith (Monica), Josh, Sasha; Craig, his children Kristen and Kyle, and their mother Lisa (Rob) Oberding; Nancy and her partner George Leith, her children Nicole, Kevin, and Mitchell, and their father Gord Young; brother Ed, and sisters-in-law Kay, Dorothy, and Helen. Paul is predeceased by his loving wife Cathy of 59 years; parents Andro and Anna Matlock; brothers Sam, Mike (Lillian), John (Jean), Joe, and Rudy; sisters Helen (Jack) Collier and Margaret (Miron) Omelan; and sister-in-law Vi. Dad, you will always and forever be in our hearts. We would like to thank the staff of St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon City Hospital, and St. Ann’s Home for the care that they provided for Paul. In lieu of flowers, our family would appreciate a memorial donation to CARG (Coronary Artery Rehabilitation Group Inc), 2020 College Dr., Saskatoon, SK, S7N 2W4.
