Obituary of Adella Elizabeth Petersen

With our thanks for a full and wonderful life of 100 years, we announce the peaceful passing of Adella Petersen on August 9, 2016 in Luther Special Care Home in Saskatoon. Della is survived by her two sons: George (Pat) Petersen of Saskatoon, and Ken Petersen of Edmonton, five grandchildren: Tod Petersen, Dean (Dawn) Petersen, Lori (Greg) Davidson, Kelly (Nate) Schenn, Kristy (Paul) Redman, eight great grandchildren and nephew Bob (Denise) Merkle. She was predeceased by her husband, George Petersen and her sister, Hilda Merkle. In 2003, she moved into Luther Towers for 10 very happy years, followed by 3 years in the Luther Special Care Home. Della worked for 22 years in the office at Henry Birks. She was an avid bridge and kaiser player, loved reading, and watching sports on TV. Car trips and time spent with family gave her much enjoyment. Della was a gentle and caring person who touched the lives of many. Her zest for life and unending love of her family leaves memories for all of us forever. The family wish to express their extreme gratitude to all of the staff at the Luther Special Care Home, who loved and cared for her in her final years.

Funeral

A Celebration of her Life will be held in Saskatoon at the Edwards Family Centre, (4th Ave. & 25th St. ) on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 3:00 pm. Courtesy parking at the Saskatoon Funeral Home.
