Obituary of Emilia Bertrand

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Noémia Emilia (Nadon) Bertrand. She died on December 30th, 2016 at 104 years of age at the Central Haven Care Home in Saskatoon, Sk. Emilia was born on August 3rd ,1912 in St. Hippolyte, Sk. She married François (Frank) Bertrand in 1934 and farmed in the St. Walburg area until 1967 when they retired to Saskatoon, Sk. Emilia is survived by: her children, Sister Denise Bertrand of Saskatoon, Jeannine (Ed) Usselman of Saskatoon, Sylvia (Floyd) VandeKlashorst of Edmonton, AB, Daniel (Jeanne) Bertrand of Sherwood Park, AB, Marcel (Audrey) Bertrand of Grandora, Sk., Helen (Dave) Welch of Saskatoon, Sk.; daughter-in-law Germaine Bertrand, Makwa, SK; 11 grandchildren: Yves, Yvon, René, Robert, Brent, Barry, Brenda, Shelly, Tiffany, Erynn, Kathy; 24 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters; Mureille Bilodeau of Bonnyville AB, Elizabeth Dubeau of Bonnyville AB; sisters- in-law: Josephine Bertrand of Saskatoon, Addie Nadon of BC. Emilia was predeceased by her husband, François (Frank) Bertrand of Saskatoon, Sk., her son, François (Frankie) Bertrand of Makwa, Sk., four grandchildren; Paul Bertrand, Lori-Anne (VandeKlashorst) Lorence, Janessa Bertrand, Jannie (VandeKlashorst) Watmough; Emilia's parents, Marie-Louise Lemieux and Joseph Nadon; four brothers: Phélicien, René, Jules, Louis; six sisters; Noémia, Marie-Anne, Beatrice, Simone, Sylvia, Thérèse. The family thanks the staff and care-givers of the Central Haven Care Home for the dedicated attention our Mother received these last 9 years.
